But India not able to won the final against the mighty Aussies in South Africa in 2003. India's Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the successful captain in World Cup. He won the Cricket World Cup 2011 for his country he also played well in the final against Srilanka. The first hat-trick at the World Cup was by Indian Chetan Sharma in a game against New Zealand in 1987. India won all three formats of the game. Current World Champions in One-Day Internal Matches (50 Overs Match), Won the first inaugural T20 Championship, Won ICC Champions Trophy 2013. So, under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh India won all the major tournaments.
